Mrs. Nilda Bambenek
Spanish

Nilda Bambenek is from Panama.  She came to the United States for her education, graduating with a degree in Biology from Saint Teresa’s College in Winona, Minnesota.  Before she starting teaching, she worked at KU Medical Center in the research department for five years.  She is married to Richard Bambenek and they have three children.  She stayed home to take care of her children, but once they were old enough, she continued her education at UMKC where she acquired her degree in Education.  She has been teaching at Saint Mary’s for fifteen years now.  She enjoys teaching and is very open-minded in her teaching style.  She loves to learn, and likes to use new ideas in her teaching approach so she can give the students an overall satisfactory learning experience.  She believes that her responsibility is not only to teach the Spanish language, but to also inform the students about the diversity of cultures and to appreciate and enjoy learning.
