Mr. Bud Yazel
Counselor
One September morning in 1948 I got up and went to school and I've been doing so ever since. I graduated from Smithville High School, The University of Kansas (B.S.Ed) , University of Missouri Kansas City (M.A.), and University of Missouri Kansas City (Ed. Spec.) I have taught and coached and counseled everything from grade school to graduate school over the last 43 years. I have also worked at a number of other jobs to support my education habit. I was the Director of Development at The Spofford Home, directed a grant for the state of Missouri, and have a list of part time jobs that would fill the Sprint Center.
My greatest pride is the number of students and athletes that I have had the privilege to be a part of their lives and watched them develop into outstanding citizens and contributing members of this great society. I was very fortunate to have wonderful educators in my own life and have strived to pay forward that blessing.
My pledge to the students and families of St. Marys is to do all I can to make your experience here as meaningful and fullfilling as it can be and to share any and all of my experience and expertise to that end.
